I'm not perfect. Never claimed to be. OK, maybe once in a while I talk about how the world would run smoother if I was in charge.
I do, however, take great pride in my job and my abilities.
I'm a communicator - in charge of outside communication efforts from the organizations I represent. Much of my time is spent writing, editing, proofreading and proofreading some more.
I admit that I tsk-tsk the MAJOR typos (a misspelled word or mistake in spacing is going to happen) that I read on the Web, in newspapers, magazines and books.
Well, you know what they say about people in glass houses...
I glanced over at a publication that I write, edit AND proofread and there it was this morning staring boldly back at me.
Oh well, it was bound to happen one day.
But why couldn't it have been on page 2 or 3 or 31!
Now, let me go back and proofread this post one more time...
Been there. Not fun. Could be worse-- imagine how all those people feel that have their typos put on Leno's Headlines.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! Following you....

As a former English teacher with many former students as friends on FB, I goof all the time, and they love to catch me! I have NEVER been great at typing and proofreading before I hit the send button. Heck, I am just tickled to get a response off before I hear, "MOMMY!" It's not a glaring mistake, and BOUNDS gives your title multiple meanings. Now you will know how many people are reading for enjoyment or critiquing!
ReplyDeleteHey, at least it's still a WORD! They might not think it's a typo...they might just think you write weird! lol!!

At least the normal reader won't even notice!
ReplyDeleteI saw that and didn't notice. We all make mistakes. Tomorrow is a new day
ReplyDeleteHappens to the best of us (including me! I'm an editor, writer and proofreader as well). As long as I pursue my craft, I realize: Perfection will forever elude me! (Let me go back and spell-check all of this!).
ReplyDeleteNone of us are perfect :-) Happy Friday! New follower.
